Here you can find out a bit about what I have been doing in my arty life and sometimes see news about where you can see my work.

Group exhibition
The show Life in Colour took place at Nicolls in the west end of Glasgow UK in May 2024, and I showed my work alongside Pascale Steenkiste and Elisabeth Grant. Check out their work - it is gorgeous. We all have different styles but love colour - hence the title of the exhibition. We ran the exhibition as a pop-up event over 3 days. We had an opening event on the Friday evening and then opened from 10-4 over the weekend. These are my thoughts about the exhibition:

What is in store for 2024?
Finding out about the show has impacted on my practice, mainly because when I started to plan how to use the space I’ve been offered, I realised I had more wall available than I first realised. Luckily, I have time to make some more paintings and I have proceeded to work a bit differently than I have before to really have a cohesive body of work ready for the exhibition.

Realisations at the end of a series
I have finished my series of willow herb paintings and have named then Fireweed – you can see them here. Fireweed is another name for willow herb, because the plant loves to colonise ground where there has been a fire, or where the earth has been disturbed.

Scaling up….at last!
Since my last blog where I shared some photographs of willow herb, I have been painting those same plants over and over again. Actually, to be more accurate I have drawn the outlines then painted them. I have loved it. The mixture of line and painting is interesting.
