Here is my current portfolio
Some paintings are for sale. My shop has been set up for UK customers. If you want to buy a painting and are from outside UK you can still buy paintings from me by emailing me.
Fireweed
This is a series of fireweed paintings that track the summer and autumn of 2023 both in terms of how willow herb plants change during that season but also themes of how a summer love waxed and waned over that time.

Looking Closer at Spring
I love the rising energy of spring, but it happens so fast, you can almost hear things growing on a sunny day. The new translucent green leaves and the gorgeous blossoms make this my favourite and most hopeful time of year.

Hyacinths
I started painting hyacinths after one of my dearest friends gave me some blue hyacinths for Christmas which bloomed over the holidays and filled my home with an amazing scent. I Iove the colour and shape and started drawing and painting them. As time moved on towards spring I started exploring other colours of hyacinths whilst waiting for the light days to return. Pink hyacinths represent joy, playfulness, love and beginnings which are very spring-like attributes. More here.
Geraniums
I have been looking closer at geraniums. My focus on geranium paintings started after I looked back through my sketchbook and photos and noticed that I often draw geraniums. I especially like the flower heads which have a very strong structure whilst being an organic form. I love the strange shapes and the intense colours.
Seasonal Noticing
I like to paint and draw as part of a creative practice because it makes me feel happy when I do it. The images I like to paint are most often inspired by nature and I’m especially interested in the continual changes that are part of the seasonal pattern. I live in Glasgow and during the time of Covid-19 I walked daily in my neighbourhood and enjoyed noticing the seasonal highlights each day. The paintings I made then reflect those observations.

Scribbly Abstracts
Sometimes its fun simply playing with materials intuitively and seeing what happens. When I do that I notice the kinds of marks I like making and how the colours work. The small series of paintings here also capture the mood of the season when they were made.
